Kenting National Park lies at the southern tip of Taiwan's main island on the Hengchun Peninsula, established in 1982 as Taiwan's first national park. Surrounded by sea on three sides—Pacific Ocean to the east, Taiwan Strait to the west, and Bashi Channel to the south—it covers about 33,290 hectares of land and sea. With a tropical monsoon climate and warm weather year-round, it offers rich tropical ecosystems and diverse geological landscapes.

Must-Visit Sights and Features

Eluanbi Lighthouse

At Taiwan's southernmost Eluanbi Cape, built in 1883, it is one of Taiwan's most iconic lighthouses. The 21-meter white tower stands between blue sea and sky. Eluanbi Park nearby offers viewing platforms and trails for sea views and sunrise.

Longpan Park

Between Eluanbi and Fengchuisha, this limestone terrace features dramatic cliff terrain and broad grassland. With little light pollution and wide views, it's excellent for sunrise and stargazing.

Nanwan Beach

Also called Nanwan Swimming Beach, it has fine white sand and clear water—one of Kenting's most popular beaches. Water activities include snorkeling, surfing, and banana boats, great for families and friends.

Longkeng Ecological Protection Area

At the southeast tip of the Hengchun Peninsula, this uplifted coral reef terrain has rich coastal plants and special geology. Because of ecological sensitivity, entry requires a permit and a guide..

Sheding Nature Park

Next to Kenting National Forest Recreation Area, it has diverse coral reef plants and limestone terrain. Trails allow observation of plants and butterflies—ideal for ecological education and nature study.
